Export your app’s source code as a ZIP

The Source Code ZIP gives you your app as a standard project you can open, change, build and host on your own. This guide explains what is inside, how it is produced and what to do next.

Can Grek Factory export my source code?

Yes. The Source Code ZIP contains your app as an Expo and React Native project in a ZIP file.

What can I do with it?

Open it in your own editor, continue development, build Android and iPhone apps yourself, and host it wherever you choose. You are not tied to Grek Factory to keep your app running.

What does Grek Factory keep?

Grek Factory’s own builder and generation tools are not part of the export. The ZIP contains your app, not the factory that made it.

What the file is, and what Grek Factory currently offers.

The ZIP holds a standard Expo and React Native project: your pages and content, the app configuration and the instructions to run it. Any developer who knows React Native can work with it.

What to do after you download it

Unzip the project, install its dependencies and run it on your computer. From there you can add features, change the design in code, connect your own services and create Android and iPhone builds with the standard tools.

Keep your own accounts and keys in your own hands: the project is set up to use the services you connected, and secrets such as API keys should stay in your own environment, never in shared code.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a developer to use the ZIP?

You or someone you work with needs to be comfortable with a React Native project to continue development. If you do not want to write code, the APK, AAB or IPA exports and the editor cover most needs.

Does the ZIP include an installable app?

No. It is source code. For an installable Android app use the APK; for Google Play the AAB.

Can I keep using Grek Factory after exporting?

Yes. Exporting does not stop the project in Grek Factory. Note that changes you make in your own copy do not flow back.
