How to build a business app with Grek Factory
Grek Factory turns a description of your business into a working mobile app prototype that you can change, try out like a customer and then prepare for launch. This guide shows each step, what Grek Factory does for you and what you do.
What does Grek Factory build?
A mobile app for your business: a first draft with pages, navigation and features such as bookings, forms or lists, generated from your description. You refine it in an editor and preview it live before anything reaches customers.
Do I need to write code?
No. You describe the business, then change the app with the editor or by asking in plain words with Smart Search. If you want the code, you can export it as a Source Code ZIP.
What happens after the prototype?
Setup & Launch lists what your app needs for real customers (for example your own cloud project and payments), and Export produces the files you need: Android APK or AAB, or the source code. iPhone is covered in its own guide.
From idea to first prototype
Everything starts from a short description in your own words.
1. Describe your business
- What it is
- A few sentences about what you offer, who it is for and what customers should be able to do in the app.
- Why it matters
- The description decides the first app structure: which pages exist and which features (for example booking, forms or lists) make sense.
- What Grek Factory does
- Reads the description and generates a prototype: pages, bottom navigation, sample content and the features it recommends.
- What you do
- Name the project and write the description. You can start without an account and sign in when you want to keep working.
- What happens next
- You land in the editor with your first prototype.
Pages, navigation and features
The first prototype is a set of pages connected by a bottom navigation, plus the features your description called for. Each page is made of sections you can reorder, edit, duplicate or delete.
Pages can be renamed, reordered, hidden from the bottom menu or moved to a “More” list, and you can duplicate a page or add a blank one. Nothing is final: every change can be undone and redone, and changes are saved automatically.
Customize the prototype
Select what you want to change, then change it.
1. Select an element
- What it is
- Click or tap a heading, text, image, button, card, form or section in the Edit view.
- Why it matters
- Each element offers only the controls that make sense for it, so you are never looking at a wall of settings.
- What Grek Factory does
- Shows the controls for that element: text, size, weight, alignment, colour, fill, corners, spacing, picture upload, links and more.
- What you do
- Pick the control and adjust it. The prototype updates immediately.
- What happens next
- Keep editing, or switch to Preview to try it.
2. Change content and design
- What it is
- Edit words, replace pictures with your own, add sections such as FAQ or contact details, and adjust colours, fonts and corners for one element, one page or the whole app.
- Why it matters
- A change to one element does not silently change everything else; app-wide changes are separate, explicit controls.
- What Grek Factory does
- Applies every change through one validated editing system, so manual edits and Smart Search produce the same result.
- What you do
- Decide where a change should apply: this element, this page or the whole app.
- What happens next
- Use Smart Search for quick changes in plain words.
Smart Search: edit in plain words
Type what you want, for example “Add an About page”, “Make this title bigger”, “Move the FAQ section up” or “Hide Profile from the menu”. Smart Search finds the matching edit and applies it to your prototype. Everyday edits like these use built-in commands and do not need AI credits.
Requests that need generative help can use Advanced AI on plans that include it. If a request cannot be done safely, Smart Search says so and leaves the project unchanged. Undo is always available.
Try it with Live Preview
Preview shows the app the way a customer would use it.
1. Switch to Preview
- What it is
- Preview mode makes the prototype behave like the real app: buttons navigate, forms submit, lists open.
- Why it matters
- You find missing pages, confusing labels and broken links before real customers do.
- What Grek Factory does
- Runs the prototype with demo data. Demo records are test data on your device; they are not real customers.
- What you do
- Tap through the main journeys: booking or ordering, contact forms, the bottom menu. Switch between the phone and web views.
- What happens next
- Fix what you find in Edit mode, then continue to production setup.
Set up for real customers and export
A prototype becomes a real app when it runs on your own services and you have an installable file or the source code.
1. Work through Setup & Launch
- What it is
- A checklist of what your app needs for production: your own cloud project for accounts and data, payments if you take them, and the details Android or iPhone distribution require.
- Why it matters
- The services behind your app belong to you. Grek Factory prepares the configuration; you connect your own accounts.
- What Grek Factory does
- Shows what is required, what is optional and what is already done, and links each step to the right place.
- What you do
- Complete the required steps for the targets you want.
- What happens next
- Choose an export.
2. Choose what to export
- What it is
- An Android APK for direct installation, an Android App Bundle (AAB) for Google Play, the Source Code ZIP, or the iPhone IPA when it is available.
- Why it matters
- Each file serves a different purpose; the guides explain which one you need.
- What Grek Factory does
- Builds the file, shows its status and offers the download after purchase.
- What you do
- Pick the export that matches how you want to distribute the app.
- What happens next
- Read the guide for that file.

Frequently asked questions
Can I try Grek Factory before setting anything up?
Yes. You can describe a business and get a prototype, then edit and preview it. Production setup and exports come later.
Can I change the app after it is generated?
Yes. Use the editor controls or Smart Search. Every change can be undone, and the project saves automatically.
Does Smart Search use AI credits?
Everyday edits use built-in commands and do not use AI credits. Advanced AI is separate and depends on your plan.
Where do my customers’ data and accounts live?
In your own cloud project, which you connect during Setup & Launch. During Live Preview only demo data is used.
